FAQ

We don't need/want an engagement session, can we have a discount?

- The engagement session included with each package is complimentary.
I include this as I feel it is a great way to get to know the couple and really see how we work together!
It also lets you and your partner get comfortable in front of the camera, and gives me an idea of how you feel with posing before the big day!
I do not provide discounts if you choose not to use it but I *HIGHLY* suggest you take advantage of it.

Can I split up my wedding day coverage?

- All hours are consecutive, unfortunately it's just not possible for me to allow couples to put breaks in between the hours. Make sure you choose the coverage that feels right to you, to avoid any stressful rushed moments.

Do you have an off-season rate or discount?

Out of fairness to all my clients, I don't discount my wedding packages.

No matter the day of the week or month of the year, all weddings are the same amount of work and are therefore all charged at the same price.

I limit how many weddings I take in a month so regardless of the day of the week you choose to be celebrating, your wedding is just as important to me as a traditional Saturday wedding.

Do you require a retainer or deposit?

Yes - absolutely.
I require a 20% retainer (pre-tax) in order to confirm your date.
This retainer is used to secure your date and prevent others from booking me which means it is non-refundable.

I also know that not everyone has the retainer right away, if this is a big concern, please chat with me. We may be able to set up a payment arrangement.

All fees are payable by cash, e-transfer or credit card.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes, I do require a client agreement be signed. This is provided to you digitally and protects both you and I.

The agreement is a basic contract that goes through the what ifs, safety and responsibility/cancelations.

Do you edit the images?

Yes, every image I give you is edited.
I do not provide un-edited images or raw files.

Every image is adjusted for tone, exposure, white balance, cropping/straightening, sharpening and of course black & white conversion (when appropriate).

Images of you and your partner will always include skin-retouching like softening and blemish removal. However, I will not (intentionally without request) remove moles, freckles, scars, etc. If this is something you want done, please request in advance as by default I don't remove permanent markings.

Please note that editing does not include:
- removing people/objects from photos.
- removing braces, or blemishes from guests.
- adding/super-imposing people, backgrounds, objects, or face swapping.

How do we get our photos?

After your engagement session, you will receive a link to your online gallery (password protected). From here you can view/download and order prints that I will have professionally printed (you will have print rights and can print from where you would like like but my prints come from professional labs).

When your wedding images are complete, I will let you know that they have been added to your online gallery. You will have access to all of your sessions in the same gallery, using the same password.

How many images do we get?

This number is going to vary by coverage length and no number is guaranteed because I am focusing on quality and capturing your moments, not quanitity.

Each wedding is different, however on average a typical wedding (5-8 hours: getting ready to first dances) is usually around 350-600

What is the difference between high resolution and low resolution files?

I provide clients with two copies of each photo.
The technical specs?

High-resolution - 300 PPI (pixels per inch)
Low-resolution - 72 PPI

In laymans terms? Websites like facebook don't like big images and if the size is too big they will compress it as small as they can. I'm sure you have seen friends post images that look "choppy" (or just awful, like someone ran them through a filter too many times).

However, for proper printing you need a larger image to get quality.

Do you deliver the images in colour, B/W or both?

This depends on the day and location. Some images are felt best in B/W and you should expect somewhere around 20-40% in B/W . However, if you have a preference please let me know ahead of time.

How long does it take to get our images?

I do my best to post a small sneak peek within 48 hours of the wedding but the majority of the album will not be completed for 4-6 weeks (occassionally this will be extended to 6-8 weeks but I will always let you know).

Can we print them ourselves?

All packages include print rights, you're welcome to print from wherever you choose. Please keep in mind that quality will vary by printer and I can NOT control this.

I don't recommend instant printers (example - kiosks available at drugstores or shopping centers). You have invested so much in to this day, don't waste your time with poor quality images! If you order through me, I use a professional printing company, although there are not any local companies I can recommend, there are plenty of professional companies you can print from online.
